2008 Adoption List

Making your way through Minor League baseball is not an easy task.  The players at Class "A" level are at the bottom of the pay scale.  Generally speaking, they make less than minimum wage if you take into consideration all the hours they have to dedicate to their job, equipment they have to purchase, dues to pay, etc.  Often times, this is their first venture away from home, first time having to find an apartment, shop, cook, and be on their own in a strange city, state, and sometimes country.  The Booster Club has found a way of helping the boys when they arrive in Rancho Cucamonga.  Each player is "adopted" by a member and/or member's family.  It's not the same as a "host" family that actually houses a player.  The Adoptive Parent/Family is there to assist the player whenever they can -- pack a goodie bag for road trips, give them a shout-out at the games to let them know they "do" have family in the stands, drop them a congratulations card when they have a great game, be there for them when they don't, and one of the most important tasks the parent has is to create a scrapbook for their adopted "son" so he'll always remember the great time he had here in Rancho.
