Rancho Cucamonga Quakes Booster Club
![]()

Every year we are fortunate to have 30-50 professional baseball players come to Rancho Cucamonga to play ball and entertain thousands of local baseball fans. What many fans don’t realize is that most of these Quakes players are paid a very minimal salary which does not even cover the basic necessities of life here in Southern California. One of the main objectives of our Booster Club is to assist these players in finding housing for the six months that they are with us. We are looking for good homes and families who are willing to offer a place for one or more of our players to live.
There is no monetary compensation for being a “host family”, but this is certainly a “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity to assist an up-and-coming baseball player as he develops his skills and works to earn his place in the Major Leagues.
The players will arrive in town the first week of April, and the regular season runs through Labor Day weekend (with the playoffs going another couple of weeks into September).
It is our hope that “host families” will be able to provide the Quakes player with his own room (with private bathroom privileges if possible), meals (when they are around to eat), laundry facilities, and the general comforts of a home.
Please remember that these young men are here to do a job that just happens to be playing baseball. It’s great when they feel like they are part of your family rather than just a guest in your home, but we do need to remember that they are here with one objective in mind – to excel in playing baseball enough to make it to the Major Leagues. Keep in mind that these are normal young men with special skills, likes and dislikes, good and bad habits, and personalities that are as different as night and day. We will do our best to match up players that meet your criteria as per your answers to the questionnaire. If you do end up housing a player and have any concerns or comments during the course of the season, please do not hesitate to contact us immediately.
If you are interested in becoming a “host family” for a 2QQ8 Rancho Cucamonga Quakes baseball player, please either download the questionnaire or call and request that one be mailed to you.
